If you have your house power washed make sure you wait 3 to 5 day before you start preping or painting, If not you are sealing moisture in the siding and trim which in turn will cause premature failures in the paint job. Power washing is not mandatory when painting. When you prep the house you should wipe it down with a dry rag as you go if there are areas that need more then just wiping, use some water and TSP with a wet rag. After that you are ready to paint your house.

  Remember when hiring a paint contractor you should not have to pay any money up front, most contractor have accounts at the paint store so no money come out of there pocket until the end of the month. Also make sure to look at the product they are using make sure it is top of the line paints and materials so you get the longest life out of the job.

  Also make sure they have general liability insurance as well as work comp insurance just in case something happens on the job you are covered.
